    ModSpace seeks an experienced Purchasing & Inventory Manager for our new Baxley, GA refurbishment facility supporting southern operations.

    Our Purchasing & Inventory Manager will work closely with the Plant Manager and Production Manager to accurately forecast and fill inventory requirements by: 

    • Guaranteeing the flow of material and assets into and from the new facility to ensure maximum productivity and effectiveness
    • Planning and implementing activities related to the material purchase, inventory control, shipping/receiving and storage functions


    Ongoing day to day activities will include:

    • Developing and maintaining policies and procedures required to implement efficient material control systems
    • Participation in material and supplier sourcing and qualification to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality standards
    • Assisting in drafting and meeting plant materials budget
    • Ensuring materials are ordered and in stock as required to meet production requirements 
    • Coordinating the efficient movement of materials within the storage and plant environment
    • Providing technical expertise to other departments as part of cross-functional management
    • Providing data, reports and analysis to support requests for information relative to assigned production areas and staffing
    • Selecting, developing and evaluating inventory personnel to ensure functional objectives are met, and ModSpace policies and procedures are followed

    A successful candidate must have:

    • A Bachelor's degree
      • OR 6 years of training and experience in construction or modular operations management
    • 5+ years of direct responsibility for inventory forecast, budget and implementation in a modular onstruction or trades intensive environment including demonstrated success forecasting supply/demand of materials to meet a production schedule
    • 2+ years of in-house and/or outsourced people management in the skilled trades arena
    • Experience creating and implementing a cost and production effective material control process/system in a plant or construction environment
    • Experience vendor/supplier selection and negotiation including drafting successful Requests for Proposals for construction or plant materials and supplies
    • Excellent and accurate interpersonal and communications skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Forklift, overhead crane, first aid, scissor lift, fall protection certifications - preferred but not required
