ModSpace seeks an experienced and agile Plant Manager for our new Tooele, UT refurbishment facility supporting southwest and west coast operations.

Our Plant Manager will participate in project management of launch activities to bring this new facility online within deadline and budget including:

  • Layout and process engineering to ensure effective, safe production
  • Selection of a local management team including
    • Production Manager
    • Purchasing Manager
    • Design Manager and
    • Operations Coordinator
  • Selection and liaison with a contract labor provider for floor and production staff
  • Materials selection, pricing and acquisition
  • Best practices and workflow process for effective production and field sales support

Ongoing day to day activities will include:

 

  • Facility set-up and start-up
  • P&L management of the facility and operations
  • Staffing analysis, selection, training and management
  • Management of human resource, inventory and quality control initiatives
  • Liaison with design services, field operations network and dispatch to establish priorities, and support activities
  • Participation in identification of business opportunities based on in-depth knowledge of ModSpace markets and products

This role may require travel regionally up to 10% of the time.

 

A successful candidate must have:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree
    • OR 7 years+ operations or modular building manufacturing experience
  • 3 years+ department/site P&L and people management experience
  • 10 years+ of manufacturing and production experience, preferably in commercial or residential modular manufacturing
  • A demonstrated ability to adhere and drive compliance to company processes and procedures
  • Strong ability to manage to quality and deadlines in a high volume workload
  • Excellent and accurate interpersonal and communications skills
  • The ability to effectively read blue prints and interpret building code
  • PC proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Experience using Constructware and Microsoft Project also preferred
    • The ability to learn new software
  • The ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
